Ride To Remembrance
Ride to Remembrance: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Amazing Community
Over the 2024 remembrance weekend, we came together for an incredible challenge: cycling non-stop for 72 hours in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Reflecting on the event, we are truly overwhelmed by the amazing community spirit, generosity, and dedication that made the Ride to Remembrance such a success.
Over the course of three days, we cycled an incredible 1,527 km—the equivalent of traveling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats (and then some!)—and climbed a staggering 18,645 meters, which is greater than the height of Mount Everest, twice over!
An Unbelievable Total Raised - £3,500
Thanks to your incredible efforts, we’ve raised an astonishing £3,500! While we are still receiving donations we are beyond grateful for every single contribution. To everyone who rode, donated, cheered us on, or helped spread the word, we cannot thank you enough. You have helped make a meaningful impact and supported an incredibly worthy cause.
A Testament to the Community
The event wasn’t just about numbers—it was about the people who made it happen. Every pedal stroke, every cheer of encouragement, and every kind word reminded us of the incredible community we have here in Easton. We’ve always envisioned The Cricketers Inn as a place where people come together, and this weekend proved just how strong that bond is growing
We saw families, friends, neighbors, and even strangers join forces to ensure we kept the wheels moving. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and support have left us speechless. This event was a testament to the heart and soul of our local area, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of this amazing village. This is without forgetting the great work from riders from some local cycling clubs VC Venta, Worthy Wheelers & Tri Team Wessex.
Whether you were on the bike for one of the tough unsocial hours, cheering with a pint in hand, or simply spreading the word, you played a vital role in this success.
