Marston’s and Paddy McGuinness are on a mission to find the UK’s smartest pub, and The Sump in Burton needs your brainpower to prove it’s the best!
With big prizes up for grabs, a chance to meet Paddy himself, and bragging rights for being part of the Smartest Pub of the week, it’s time to get involved. Our quiz is free to enter, make sure to head down before 8pm, with a charged mobile device, so that you have time to register for the quiz before Paddy starts asking the questions!

Join us for The Big Pub Quiz, hosted by Paddy McGuinness, starting Thursday 1st May at 8pm.
Every week, pubs across the UK will go head-to-head, battling for the title of the Smartest Pub in the UK.
We’re giving back to the community too! The Smartest Pub of the week will receive a donation from Marston’s Charitable Foundation to support a local worthy cause.
Plus, the top scorer in each pub each week will win a £50 bar tab.
The person who with the highest score at the end of the quiz will take home a whopping £5k.
You’ve got to be in it to win it! Bring your phone and head down before 8pm on the 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd of May to show us what you’re made of!
HOW TO PLAY
The Big Pub Quiz will take place at 8pm on the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd of May. Make sure to arrive early to grab a good spot and get settled in. The quiz is live, with questions broadcast through the pub’s audio system, Paddy McGuinness will be asking all of the questions, so listen carefully and get ready to answer! This is a digital quiz, and it’s free to enter, all you’ll need is a charged mobile device and to join our WiFi
Scan the quiz QR code – You’ll find these on the quiz posters around the pub
Want to play for the big £5k Cash prize? – Register for a free account using your email address, you’ll need to use the same account details each week to be in with a chance of winning
Answer the questions as they appear on the screen – Fast answers get more points!
After you’ve joined wait in the lobby until the quiz starts at 8pm – Waiting for host means you’re in the game
Watch out for the evil questions – Answer these wrong and you’ll lose points!
